Looks perfect. Good choices. No ssd?

    HWVS charge 19% German vat.

Nice build. I'd maybe think about a case that's a little nicer, maybe something like this with sound dampening? Also, seems a shame not to include an SSD in there. You could get a 120GB 840 in there with the extra case, and it would run you around €1,020 delivered.

I've never actually used an SSD, do they make that much of a difference?

That case does look nicer, I've seen it recommended lots on here, but it was out of stock when I was adding things to the basket. I'll swap it in and see if I can figure out drive bay converter in German

Hell yes. If you can at all, you definitely want an SSD in your system. They're the one thing I try and include in every build I spec here.

I'll have a think about it. It'd be 3 hard drive system then right? SSD for windows, 1 hd for the files and the other for the scratch disk. Or would a 2tb partitioned disk make more sense?

Dunno if you can get 2TB Blues... I'd probably still go with 2x1TB though. Saves you data in the event of a drive failing.

A decent sized ssd makes the perfect scratch disk and will improve windows and your programs performance.

You could get away with a 120gb one for your os programs and scratch disk space although it depends on what video content you are working on. It might not be enough space for larger projects. You can get good 250gb ones relatively cheap in the Samsung 840's. The pro drives are worth considering for a scratch disk as they have much faster writes and longer lifespans but again it depends on how much data you are going through.

I''m no video editor but from what I understand for a 3 disk setup, which is really the minimum you should be using for good performance, would be something like this.

So you would be importing from D, running it through C and exporting to E.

    SSD
C Drive - Windows, programs, scratch disk space.

    HDD1
D Drive - Saved data files

    HDD2
E Drive - Current Project files

You should consider another back up drive in future to back up any important data in a raid in case of any drive failure.

I'm going to go with the SSD and two physical hard drives. I have a few external drives that I'll use for back up the old fashioned way to begin with, and see what happens in the future.

    Thanks for the advice.

Don't forget extra SATA cables for the additional Hard drives, if you need them.

    Also, homeplugs instead of wireless?

Finally, higher speed RAM usually goes well with AMD systems.
