Hi all, just a quick question with regard to the dole. Hope to find an answer from someone in a similar situation. I have a special needs child and my wife doesn't work and gets carers allowance and domiciliary ( not the full amount ). How much would I get if I was on the dole?? Thanks.

I was on carers benefit and my husband was on the dole for a while. He got the full rate E188 (no children) so you'll get full rate plus you can claim for children (unless your wife is claiming for them.) Was she not getting full rate carers as you were working? You need to let the carers section know if you finish work and they can do another means test on your wife and prob bring her up to the full amount
