So I'm friends with a girl who recently broke up with long term boyfriend 1-2 months ago, fancied her for ages, we've gotten on great since (she admitted this) and says she has the chance to get back with him, but isn't sure because of me.

I really want to see where this could go between us but I have no experience (:/) with girls and am very nervous, I also don't want to have a disaster of a thing that could ruin our great friendship.

    Looking for advice, thanks

    Ps we are mid/late teens

Any more details can be provided

If she isn't sure about getting back with her ex because of you, then things aren't truly in the context of friendship any more anyway.

The reason you are so close at the moment and have such an awesome friendship is because you aren't seeing other people, and are interested in each other. Not pursuing a relationship is more likely to cause that to end, than to prevent it. If she gets back with her bf, or sees someone else, that likely to create issues with your friendship for her, for her bf and for you. The same is true if you start seeing someone else.

It's ok to be nervous. Being nervous or inexperienced doesn't necessarily mean things will go badly. That's only likely to happen if you let your nervousness control your actions, or overcompensate for it in some way.

You like her. She likes you. Go ahead and act on that. It could lead to you being very happy. If it doesn't then at least you'll learn from it. If you don't act on it you'll just stagnate and regret it.

    Tell her that.

I'm about twice your age, and from this perspective I can tell you one thing - it doesn't make any sense not to try when a good thing is right in front of you. Things may go well, they may fizzle out or they may go badly - you won't know until you try.

And one more thing - it's ok to be scared!

Regret the things you do, not the things you dont do.

Go for it, there is more to be gained than lost
