Car Rental

    Ok, I'm a complete car rental newbie. I've applied and been approved for a credit card. I've applied for this, purely to get a rental car in Sardinia (Italy) in September.

    So I've gotten a price from an online broker for the period (about 200 euro). If I go into the Additional Information there's the following listed:

    Additional Information
    C.D.W. Deductible: Approx. EUR 750.00, VAT included, paid locally.
    Theft Insurance Deductible: Approx. EUR 1,000.00, VAT included, paid locally.
    Theft Insurance Coverage: Included in all rates.
    Liability Insurance: Included in our rates..

    So the two I've highlighted in bold, are they deducted from my credit card in case I have an accident or the car is crashed/stolen? Does this mean I need to apply for a credit card with a 2 grand limit to cover this stuff?!

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Either do this or take our Super CDW from the Car hire company. Third party excess insurance will cover the risk but you'd still have to cover things on your credit card.
