Challenge 110: Happy (candid)

Recently, on another site, I posted some photos for appraisal. They were candid shots of people enjoying life. Besides some of the beneficial feedback re the usual issues, DOF, POV, composition etc., somebody said that they didn't "get it" and they couldn't figure out the "purpose" of the picture.

I think that good photography doesn't have to be about a deeper meaning or artistic - I love a good photo that captures some of the experience of life is enough in itself.

So this challenge is to capture an image of somebody (young, old, male, female, human, animal - whatever) being Happy! Only one extra proviso - it must be a candid shot - I know that's impossible to police but hey...

    Have fun!

    Rules:
    - Closing Date is 2 weeks from now that is Wednesday 19/06/2013 at 11pm.
    - Only photos taken with the challenge in mind qualify - therefore the photo must be taken between now ( 11pm on 19/05/2013 ) and 11pm on 3/07/2013.
    - The photo must be taken by the person submitting it.
    - One submission per post, but submit as many times as you like.
    - The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time.

Something like these? (they were not posed - my daughters hate me taking their pictures so I have to "catch" them)

We have a winner! Farmlife, with a clear lead on 23 thanks wins this challenge and gets to set the next one!

Congrats to Nanook5 who came second, and third, closely followed by Tallon.

Hopefully Farmlife will set a better challenge than I did :-)

The challenge was good Adrian. I am sure there were others like myself who followed it without taking part- portraits are always challenging and sometimes getting the right setting is difficult. In fact a constantly running thread of candid portraits would be a good idea...

    Apologies for not participating btw.
