    Hi
I've a tapping sound which is slowly getting worse from under a VW Passat 185k miles. The sound happens during a slowing momentum or if I sway from left to right at speed over 80km per hour.
I've had passenger side wheel bearing replaced to no avail. Any ideas ?????

Could be multiple things from control arms to cv joints.Hard to diagnose without hearing it.Try some googling the problem or vwaudi forum.Crasher there will gladly help and a genius with motors..

It does sound like a control arm problem. Most likely a ball joint or bushing. From experience I'd put my money on a bushing. Where control arms are concerned, there's a ball joint on one end and a bushing on the other. A good mechanic should be able to diagnose it.
