I'm guessing that as my car is completely standard custom mapping isn't necessary as such? Think i might take a spin up and suss things out Friday after work

I never used Donal for remapping work but he does a lot of instrument cluster repair work for us and we find him good to deal with.

He's undone a remap and replaced it with a stock map on one of my cars. Never had an issue afterwards.

If you don't mind me asking why did you revert back to stock?

Problems caused by a poor remap and he was the person recommended to sort it.

I had a problem with my speedometer not working and dropped it into KC systems. They reconditioned(?) the instrument cluster but it didn't sort the problem and advised me it was likely my speed sensor instead and I'd have to have it fixed elsewhere.

I was a bit disappointed to be charged full price for the service, since they misdiagnosed the source of the problem and 'fixed' something that didn't need fixing. Then told me that they couldn't be any further help. I was a bit stunned to be honest.

After that, I took the car into Jerry Hurley in town. It took 3 separate visits for him to finally diagnose and fix the problem. As he works on a no fix/no fee basis, I was only charged for the 3rd visit. I know where I'll be going in future.

:pac: I didn't post with the intention of promoting a rival, but rather to warn people that you will be charged by KC Systems no matter if they can fix your problem or not. I'm still a bit miffed about it to be honest!

Thats not strictly accurate. You sent in item and got a reconditioned item back and we're charged for that work.
They they diagnose the car in person and tell you that the issue was with the part you sent in?
