With BT taking over ESPN from July i'm wondering will they keep the ESPN America brand and if so will college ball continue to be shown on a Saturday.

I have Sky Go access via my sister in law and finally some time on a Saturday to relax and watch some College football !

If they don't, apart from rubbish streaming what are the other options ?

ESPN College pass is an option. Never used it myself though I would if ESPN America disappears

100 euro for the season and show a fair amount of games on a Saturday. Great quality also.

Doesnt show every Big game as it depends who the colleges have as a their media partner.

Gators would be who i'd like to see most.

100 isn't bad if it has all the bowls as well.

Don't think ESPN have any plans on shutting up shop here with the loss of BPL rights a la Setanta in certain places so I'd expect it to be service as normal.

ESPN is coming under the BT umbrella though as far as I'm aware.

Yeah, there'll still be an ESPN channel apparently. The only question is how much of the American sports it will show. I read somewhere that some of the rights they bought from ESPN's UK channel have to be shown on the updated ESPN channel and can't be on the BT ones for contractual reasons or something. I can't remember which sports specifically but I think the German football was one (anyone help me put?)

If and when we find out what the ESPN channel will be showing, the next question is whether UPC will still host it.

Setanta will now have BT and ESPN but no word on ESPN America

There will be no ESPN America going forward. The new ESPN will carry some of the American sports. However at this stage we don't know how much.

ESPN are advertising college football on the ad they have for sports coming in Sept. With ESPN America gone I doubt they will show many games though as they will have no where on the schedule to fit it with all the other stuff they plan to show. Only before time that ESPN America was going to be pulled. I sh1tanta dont decided to go and show college ball now instead. Its bad enough they got the hockey.

Shame to see ESPN America go, only noticed on channel 410 on UPC in the last few months tbh. I have been watching quite a bit of Major League Baseball in the evenings too.

    Sorry to hear that;)

Setanta have a channel called Ultimate Sports as one of their package from Aug 1st, any ideas about it ?

Haven't heard of it, other than watching some of the League of Ireland soccer on Setanta i rarely watch it.

Couldn't stand MLB before, but after being Stateside and being at a Sox game i find it more paletable!

Would imagine the nighttime games will still get aired on ESPN. There's not much else on in the sporting world at 3am.

    Go Ducks!

The ESPN Player is the only way to go on this tbh. Assuming a decent Internet connection you have HD quality College Football and BBall games. Aside from ND home games (rights held by NBC) I could probably count on one hand the number of vital National Championship picture games not shown on the player over the past five years.

The US networks also stream the College games that they cover for free.

In fact, NBC streamed all the home Notre Dame games globally last year. CBS broadcast a big SEC game every Saturday night but, if I remember correctly, last season I needed to use a VPN to access the stream on their website.
