    Hi guys
Im currently using a titleist 910 d2 9.5* with a project x 7c3 shaft i hit it straight with a small draw but my spin rate is 4400rpm where it should be 2200rpm. I know titleist offer the 910 d2 and d3 in 7.5* heads. Does anybody know where i could get one with 7.5* loft?

Carton will sell you one of them.

But to be honest I'd very much doubt thats the problem.
No one should be using that little loft, go get a trackman fitting from someone who knows what they are doing.

I was asked to do a Bridgestone ball fitting and that was the results using a pro v they recommended i move to hard ball but i couldn't make any magic around the green without the soft ball

    Clubhead speed was 117.5
    Spin was 4400rpm

Anybody know where i could get a titleist 910 or 913 7.5* head only?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,824 ✭✭✭levitronix

thats a soft shaft for that much club head speed, i have the 7a3 its a spin killer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Golfgod101

Im thinking of getting a tour ad di 6s or a tour ad bb 6s! I'd still like a lower loft head than 9.5*
    Id rather the 7.5 in d2 or d3 but if i couldn't a 8.5 in d3?
Any idea where to get a 7.5*???

Your hitting a small draw? What kinda distance are you getting with your 117 mph swing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26 Golfgod101

around 280+/- but the spin is killing shots apartently if i could lower the spin i could get up to 312

Hidden charges? If its just the head your looking for most of them will post. $15 postage. Not too bad.

Otherwise get on to Carton and they should be able to sort you out.

Getting a lower lofted driver doesn't necessarily lower spin.

D3 is lower launch lower spin i prefer lower lofted drivers too but unfortunatly i couldn't find any so i had to get d2 9.5

Greebo told you over 2 hours ago that they would have one. Doesn't bother me but your desperate for one yet if you rang when you were told about it you would have got hold of them.

If it was good enough for Rory, it should be good enough for you

I'm just ****ing with. The head means **** all. Go and get custom fitted for a shaft.

Have you not looked at the flex in your shaft, thats a regular shaft your playing, with that club head speed thats about 280 yards, my guess its the shaft

Project x 7c3 is stiff 6.0 and is tipped stiff also 73g

its a soft stiff, why do they have a 6.5 and 7.0, i have 7.0 and thats stiff

    I know they have 6.5 and 7.0 but 7.0 is x flex
Do you have any idea about the tour ad di 6s or tour ad bb 6s

for me it was too expensive to consider, so no ideas

Op, a custom fit for half an hour with a proper launch monitor will be better spent money than a new driver head. Seriously, it could be any combination of factors that's giving you the high spin rate - angle of attack, shaft, launch angle, clubface setting etc etc.
Just blindly buying a 7.5 degree head may not solve the problem, to be honest I can't see that going to 7.5 will halve your spin rate though, and it will impact on your launch angle.

There's not many guys that need as low a loft as that, admittedly there's not many with 117mph swing speed either, that's 5-6mph above the tour average, so the usual rules may not apply. Certainly at that speed any shaft that's a "soft" stiff won't be strong enough.

you can adjust the 9.5* down to 8*, have you tried that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 904 ✭✭✭realgolfgeek

I'm not sure why this is proving difficult for you to be honest.
Just ask your pro shop (I'm assuming you have one by the sounds of things) to order you one, or ask a golf shop, or carton house, to order you one.

But I personally think you're nuts.
Lower the loft on your existing club.
Get a proper fitting, guarantee you your shaft will be changed !!

Admittedly I know SFA when it comes to flexes, lofts etc other than the very basics....

But is this not a bit nuts.
You went to a Bridgestone ball fitting and surprise surprise they said another competitors ball had too much spin/you create too much spin for that ball!!!
Have you stopped to think about this for a second.
They were trying to flog you Bridgestone balls surely?

You hit it long, with a baby draw, they may have been selling snake oil but have they inadvertingly convinced you to go off and buy a rattle snake!?

    OP

The clubhead you are looking for isn't provided as standard to retail units, you need to get this direct from Titleist. This means getting one ordered via a store, or going to Titleist themselves.

People are mentioning Carton House, because that is where Titleist are based in Ireland pretty much, they have a shockingly good fitting service down there, that on occasion wave fitting fees when you make a purchase. Your making an assumption on clubhead loft, from a fitting from bridgestone?

You want the Titleist guys to fit you. Organise a tip to Carton, Mark O'Mahony should still be there, he's head fitter for Titleist at his age for a reason, he's a touch of genius. I got fitted by a guy who I'm raging I forget his name, Northern Irish accent, does the travels around north Dublin. Next irons I get I'm going to him and him only. His expertise was outrageous and he would only let me leave if he was 150% happy with his work. Which is what you want.

I'd be suprised if clubhead loft would be the cause of your high spin btw.

Also as far as I am ware, your 9.5* can drop down to a 7.5 with the right adjustments. I have my 9.5* set to a 10.5*
