Several new channels have been announced for Apple TV, as usual some are geo-restricted:

At least they are slowly adding some channels for us Europeans with Sky News. It's a start if anything.

When will HBO finally give in, and allow people to pay for an online subscription. The sooner they do, the sooner we can use a VPN and start using it! :D

As an added bonus; if your Apple TV thinks its in the US, Sky News shows other stuff during what would otherwise be Ad breaks.

Additions I can see going through a US configured Apple TV:

When logged in using an Irish iTunes Account:
    Sky News
    Qello
    Crunchyroll

When not logged into an iTunes Account:
    HBO Go
    Watch ESPN
    NHL
    Sky News
    Qello
    Crunchyroll.

Any signs of HBO Go ever being available here?

Not even a hint of it at the moment unless you have an HBO paid satellite/cable subscription.

May 2nd: Jeff Bewkes, CEO of HBO’s parent company Time Warner, said on Wednesday that the company has no plans to offer HBO GO without a cable subscription.

I don't think HBO's business model is compatible with on-demand streaming. All the US cable networks are facing the same problem. I can see them all be replaced rather than adapting, but they are going to hold things back for a long time.

In fairness, Sky has done quite the job in bringing HBO/Showtime/AMC content to the UK and Ireland, putting more of an emphasis to their On-Demand content. Unfortunately, their Apps are piss poor and refuse to collaborate with anyone in bringing their On-Demand content to new devices except Microsoft. And with their stake in Roku, it'll never come to Apple TV (Sky Go has yet to reach Roku even).
