I'm looking at studying a Paramedic Practice DipHE in Edge Hill in the year starting Sept. 2014 - However from what I've read I'm not entitled to any kind of "maintenance support" while I'm there but the NHS will pay my educational fees.

My question is would I be able to apply for Back to Education Allowance to support me while I'm studying in the UK?

    Thanks in advance

Is this an undergraduate course? you might be able to apply for a SUSI maintenance Grant

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Hi Miike,

You will need to contact the Social Welfare office regarding the BTEA query. I don't have any knowledge about their funding options.

In order to receive the Maintenance grant while studying outside the Republic, you will need to provide evidence of living in the Republic of Ireland for three out of the last five years. If you can provide this evidence and meet the other SuSi requirements for funding, then you could receive maintenance while studying in the UK.

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,
    Aoife,
