Finally in an financial position where I can afford to subscribe to archaeology journals and looking for recommendations :D

I'm slightly out of the loop now in the academic and commercial sector so would be interested in recommendations which are particularly good for new peer-reviewed research and ones on a broader level which will keep me up to date. Particulary interested in period from AD900-1400 in Ireland. Looking for personal recommendations and possibly interesting journals from abroad about any period.

Irish ones I'm thinking of so far:

    Archaeology Ireland (magazine)
    Current Archaeology (magazine - Britain)

    JRSAI
    PRIA
    Medieval Archaeology
    Irish Historical Studies
    JCHAS
    Ríocht na Midhe
    Ulster Journal of Archaeology
    Old Kilkenny Review
    Decies

I suspect many high profile and prolific contributors have moved over to social media and blogging.
That's where it's at these days, if you want to be up to speed.
http://www.academia.edu is an outstanding resource for up to date papers. Everyone who's anyone publishes there.
Google analytics is the new form of assessment for numbers of papers published.
Like it or loath it, you need to follow the social media to be in the loop. Drumclay was excavated purely as a product of momentum that began on Facebook. Even state bodies have (sort of) embraced the idea that this is how knowledge will be disseminated in the immediate future.
The ultimate peer review I suppose.

That said, it's still nice to open the wrapper and I would not like to miss Archaeology Ireland, even though it rarely matches my expectations.
If you join the RSAI you also get the journal.

Send me a pm if you want pointers to some of the better stuff in the social media.

If I had a few quid in my pocket (sadly, exceedingly rare scenario these days!) I would jump at the change to get a subscription to Current Anthropology. It might possibly be a little more sciencey then youre after, but it us undoubtedly one of the best academic archaeology journals going. The same goes for Antiquity and the Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society too, which might be Slightly more accessible, although I only ever get what I need out of them, so I'm not sure what it would be like to get one through your door and sit down for a leisurely read :)

Any of the ones you mentioned would be fantastic to have, so youre set whatever you decide, but if you wanted to get a little more indepth (not to mention international) then you might like to look into those ones I mentioned.

I have online access to Antiquity so usually just skim all articles when I see it coming through. Don't think I'd sit down and read it from 'cover' to 'cover' though.

So many books, so little time :(

For archaeological bone-related topics I would suggest:

American Journal of Physical Anthropology: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1096-8644

    Journal of Human Evolution: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/00472484

    International Journal of Paleopathology: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/18799817/2

    International Journal of Osteoarchaeology: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1002/(ISSN)1099-1212
