Bicycle shorts - like we had in the 80s!

    I have loads of summer dresses that are really short and I sometimes get a bit self conscious in them, especially if it's windy! I'd love a pair of bicycle shorts to wear under them occasionally - not proper sportswear, but stretchy cotton ones, like very short leggings. Does anyone know if it's possible to get them these days, and where I might look?

    I think Penneys do these, in their underwear section. I bought a load of them about 5 years ago at €6 each (they are probably a little more now) and they are still in good nick. They were way better than the expensive ones I bought online before that!

    I have a pair from american apparel. they have cute ones with lace on the bottom too that look great under short dresses, imo.

    Are you talking about those 'Spanx' type sucky in shorts? They are great.. but be careful to get them in the right size as they are unforgivingly tight and can have a bit of a 'muffin top/bottom' effect :o;)

    They come in flesh coloured too (assuming you're caucasian) :p

    Those are the ones all right, very good quality for the price.

    Penneys have short leggings in at the moment, they would stop above the knee.

    I'm the same as you, and I find them great as I feel a bit conscious about wearing dresses without tights sometimes!

    Ah right, I'm not looking for shapewear at all. I couldn't bear wearing something like Spanx in hot weather, especially in casual circumstances!

    I've found some cheap ones on Amazon that are mid-thigh length, so I might try those, and also check out American Apparel online because the lace fringed ones sound nice :).
