Single Parent Holidays

Hi All ...

This may not be the correct forum but Mods, feel free to move it if you feel necessary.

I'm a single parent to a 5yr old girl and as we're not doing the "Big" Holiday this year, I was hoping to get down the country for a couple of nights. I was thinking about a mid week break in a hotel/holiday home/ mobil home. And something that isn't going to cost the earth either !!

Anyone any suggestions ??

Unfortunately you will end up paying the same as a couple (the joys of single parenting) or at the very least, a single supplement.

I keep an eye on the deal sites as they often have good self catering options or two nights.

The last holiday myself and my daughter took by ourselves, I used the website www.hotwire.com
You can get a discounted rate because you don't find out which hotel you're booked into until you actually book it. It gives the details and reviews of the hotel so you've an idea of it but they don't give the name of the hotel until you actually book.
I got a great deal on a hotel in Belfast for 5 nights.


(I'm not affiliated with any of these places btw, I'm just used to paying through the nose for taking my child anywhere! )

Thanks for that Ash - I went on line last night and actually got something on Booking.com .... €168 for 2 nights in the clarion in Sligo. So I'm a happy camper.

I did have a look at the hotwire site too ... As my little girl is only 5 and this is our first time away with just the 2 of us I wanted to be sure what i was getting (or as sure as I can be) but I'll have a look at that if I ever manage to get an overnight away for myself :-)

This is my first time looking for something for the 2 of us and i'm very disappointed that there isn't more options for single parents !!
