Can anyone please recommend decent headphones for running..
None of the normal headphones sit in ears properly i also want phones that block out exterior noise

This is the set I'm using at the moment: Panasonic RP-HS46E-K - cheap as chips, but will probably only last a year (so I bought two pairs). They don't drown out external noise, which suits me, as I like/need to hear what's going on around me when I'm running. If you're an indoor/treadmill runner, and want to block out the gym's appalling music, they probably wouldn't be suitable.

    1. Sennheiser CX 680 Sports - (£30.99 on amazon.co.uk)
Not super expensive, and good build and sound quality. The little rubber fins do a solid job of keeping them in your ears without needing a headband. I used these on average for 1h running per day plus another 1h non-running for a year, before buying #2 below.

    2. Motorola SF600 - (£59.95 on amazon.co.uk)
They're not quite as secure in the ear as the Sennheisers, and you need to recharge them every 6 hours or so, and obviously you need to be using a device that supports bluetooth, BUT, I will never buy wired headphones again. The lack of messing around with a cable, especially when running is just lovely. Plus, when not running, I can leave my phone on my desk/table and wander around within about 20m. I did have to return the first pair for a sticky volume button, but after 3-4 months, the second pair have had no problems from multi-hour daily use.

Edit: They both come with a variety of ear buds for different sized ears, and at least #2 (can't remember for the Sennheisers) also have buds with grooves in them that allow in more external noise if you want.

Bought them based on this review of several different types of headphones designed for running, well worth a read I think

Sennheiser are a great brand, i've mine with 4 years and they work a treat. Well worth it and you can get them in PC World i believe.

As for blocking out exterior sounds, it might be handy to know whats going on around you when you're running. Tunnel vision/hearing means that you haven't a clue whats going on around you.
