VRT rebate for exporting a car to the UK.

    I just did a quick look at the VRT to see if it was worthwhile exporting a car and claiming some of the VRT, not only is it a joke but they have a 500 euro admin fee in there too for good measure!! So instead of getting back E567 I get back E67 and Revenue get E500!!:mad:

    The problem is they are putting the OMSP on the E65 very low. The older E38 is actually valued at over EUR5k OMSP vs the newer 740i at EUR4k. Now there might be some truth to that, but thats an exceptional example of the rebate system.

    The inverse is also true however, you could import an E65 for less than an E38.

    I think if the shoe was on the other foot and i was importing the same car I doubt the VRT would be so low. My main gripe is the E500 admin fee, that's purely a rip-off!
