Hey guys, exactly what it says on the tin, I'm in computer and electronic engineering in galway, Passed my first semester and passed 2 modules in my second semester, however I got lazy and through my own stupidity failed 6 modules. I only got 30 credits for the year so far I think. Now I am repeating 3 exams in august, but there are modules I failed which didn't have a final exam. What do I do now? Do I have to repeat the whole year or?

Are you sure there are no repeats for the subjects without final exams? Even if there is 100% CA there nearly always is a repeat mechanism. Did you look up exam papers in the library database?

I can try, if I'm unsure can I put down all subjects I failed in the repeat form and hope they have repeat exams? Because some of the subjects I failed didn't have final exams, such as my programming etc. Its my own stupidity that did this to me, but I'd do anything to be able to pass the year.

    Hi Steve,
Sorry to hear that and I'll try and help if I can so here goes in my own course there was one module that everyone needed to take it was a lab module which meant there was no final year exam either, therefore the 100% was on the practical itself in the year as you attended on those days, i'd say it would be the same methodology as with your computer modules you did it in that time with nothing, no exam at the end of semester, now this is the thing if you were near a pass you might have passed by compensation from another subject, but goin by your info this doesn't seem to be the case so goin on our own information for the practical module we did, it would be if you didn't pass by compensation and wound up with a failed module in you results transcripts, you'll probably have to repeat the year, I'd say to be honest that's what you'll have to do. So if I were you I would talk to the head of your school straight away just in case they maybe going on holidays soon and discuss options, you might be able to repeat externally and perhaps be able to attend for just those failed modules within the college if you are not able to pay fees as unfortunately you'll have to pay for the year the full fees, but see first and talk to the head of your school. Hope this helps

Programming has an august repeat, I believe. I've seen it listed in the repeat exam timetable.
