    Hi all,
My 7.5 year old Dell is on it's last legs and I'm looking at my options for a new laptop before this one dies!

My max budget is 1000 euro, I want a Windows machine. I will mostly be using Office, and using the internet. I want to learn programming in the future too. Mobility is not a huge issue for me, I'll be working from home. Not sure I could get a smaller laptop with a big screen and docking station I could plug it into - I have no idea about prices for those.

    Thanks in advance!

Just bumping this to see if anyone can give me a sort of idea of the specs I would need.

what programming are you looking at learning? The beginnings doesn't require a top range laptop. And there's no point putting money towards one just to later decide programing isn't what you expected and have no interest in learning ore.

If you're just looking at internet/word. Any basic laptop will do what you need.

If you have an idea of what you want in a laptop, check out pcspecialists. They have high end stuff for great prices.

Post up your chosen spec though, just in case you picked something that may not be worth while getting.
