Just playing around with holiday destinations for a week some time in july/august. Albania seems to be an up and coming destination, I haven't the first clue about it, has anyone been? Looking for a nice mix of beaches/food to relax.

I only spent a couple of days there but Saranda seems to have a nice beach. It's really cheap there and the people are friendly.

The Roman ruins of Butrint are well worth a visit too, we hired a taxi to take us there via unsurfaced roads. Corfu is just half an hour away by Hydrofoil.

I'd like to explore Albania a bit more, as it seems to have beautiful mountains and lakes.
