    Hi

Long time lurker first time poster. I'm looking at buying a giant rapid as my daily commute bike 13km each way and also by a weekend bike . I'm just looking for some feedback is it the right bike for me I don't have any experience commuting to work or weekend cycling

    Thanks

You can't go wrong with the Rapid IMO... lightweight, takes full length mudguards, up to 28c tyres (I think) for extra comfort and the bar ends are useful when doing longer distances as you can vary the hand position on the bar to alleviate numbness etc.

I have a '3' for the last two years and whilst I have nothing to compare it against, I like it a lot.

Giant is a reputable brand name with decent components... ideal for a beginner.

Have had my Rapid 4 for three years and it hasn't skipped a beat.
Great for commuting with a bit of speed and very easy to cycle long distances on. Like any bike, keep it well maintained it will last you.

Hi John, did you buy your Rapid?

I have a 56cm Rapid 3 that I'm looking to trade in. It's the 2009(ish) model but it's well looked after and regularly serviced. I actually can't fault it for daily commuting but I'm toying with the idea of upgrading to a road bike.
