Wondering could anyone help me, Im doing a masters and have a GPA of 3.44 my thesis is worth 30 credits and have already completed 60 credits, is there any chance of me bulking my gpa up to 1.1 through getting top marks on my thesis? Could anyone help or tell me how to calculate what I would need,

Ok, the GPA you need for a 1:1 is 3.68.
You are doing a total of 90 credits, and so far you have completed 60 of those, of which your GPA is 3.44.

To get a 1:1 your need a GPA at a minimum of 3.68. Let's say multiply this by 90 to get the units of (GPA)(Credits).
    90 x 3.68 = 331.2 (GPA)(Credits).

This means that if you want a 1:1 with a 90 credit degree, you need to get a (GPA)(Credits) of at least 331.2.

Now, you've already gotten 3.44 for 60 credits.
    60 x 3.44 = 206.4 (GPA)(Credits).

Taking 60 credits away from 90 credits -
    331.2 - 206.4 = 124.8 (GPA)(Credits)

This 124.8 is the (GPA)(Credits) you'll need for your remaining 30 credits. Dividing by 30, to give the minimum thesis GPA you need for an overall 1:1 -
    124.8 / 30 = 4.16.

This is somewhere between an A (4.0) and an A+ (4.2)

tl;dr - if you get an A+ in your thesis, you get a 1:1. If you get an A in your thesis, you don't get a 1:1.

    Best of luck!
