Who is going to go? Being a bengals fan, of course I want them to go, but that is a semi long shot. At this point, it is up in the air still, but at least for the nfc, Seattle seems to be the team to go and possibly win it all. Discuss

Until all the camps are done and the pre-season is over it is hard to say. 49ers Seahawks Broncos would be many folks strong favourites Patriots and the Packers most likely next on the list this early on. But anything can happen in camp and key players could get injured or guys shine on other teams. Week 1 will give us an idea of every teams strengths after camp.

Really, so you already know who the AFC Champions are going to be. Care to pass on that info so I can bet all my wages on it.

Hang on, you had just said the NFC is still up the air. Yet now you've just crowned the Seahawks NFC and SB champions.

Have you any clue what you are talking about or is all the forum jumping making you dizzy?

I read that as him favouring the NFC to be fair. Could it be a case the comma placement has either one of us reading it wrong? This is what I read Note my edit.

Sorry for the confusing. Meant to say seattle is the team that most likely will go to the sb for the nfc. Yes i do favor the afc, being a bengals fan and all.

Discuss? Are you for real? Please take your trolling bull**** elsewhere.
OK, I'll grant you that his grammar made it a bit difficult to understand. He said it is up in the air but he feels that Seattle are going to win the nfc. Pretty easy to see via actually taken a second to read the post rather than want to be a pr1ck to some guy who is expressing an interest in the game and getting a debate going.

There is a Bengals thread also the AF forum couple of posts down right now. You should throw a few posts in there with fellow fans.

If I had to say at this early stage, I'd go Broncos from the AFC and 49ers from the NFC.

One injury can change everything though!

    Gonna say Pats V Seahawks.
Don't think Kaep will see the same success after the teams have had a while to prepare for his style so 49ers will miss out somewhere along the way.
Bronco's are gonna be disappointed again I think, I'd like for them to win it if Ravens don't repeat though :P

To be honest I think Kaepernick is more than capable of playing QB from the pocket without running around all over the place.

I don't rate the Seahawks as highly as everyone else seems to, I think the 49ers will take that division.

However I could see both 49ers and Seahawks missing out on a trip to the Superbowl, I can imagine another big year for Aaron Rogers and co and could a superbowl appearance for Green Bay.

In the AFC hard to look past the Broncos and the Patriots, maybe the Texans as an outside bet. If I had to guess I'd go Green Bay v New England.

Its funny how things have changed with regards to the strength of the conferences. For much of the noughties, the AFC was the stronger and much tougher to make the playoff's. Now, when i was thinking about potential Superbowl contenders, most of them are coming from the NFC (Hawks, 49ers, Falcons, Packers and potentially the Saints). Apart from the Pats and Broncos, I don't see anyone else really challenging from the AFC.

But as most have said, at this stage its impossible to tell. So many variables can affect teams such as injuries, schedule, suspensions, form, etc.

What about any outside contenders who might spring a surprise? The Texans have been mentioned, I'd also be looking at the falcons to make the breakthrough possibly. Too soon for the Bengals maybe...maybe the redskins if rgIII doesn't get injured?

The Texans are flat track bullies IMO. They'll hammer the weaker teams and beat some top teams in the regular season, but when it comes to play the big boys in a playoff situation they don't get it done. I think this year will be the same, they'll make the playoffs, scrape past someone like the Bengals and then go out with a whimper to someone like the Patriots.

Here's what Paddy Power thinks...might be worth a couple quid as the odds usually get brutal when the season starts....

Sorry couldn't upload screen shot...odds are

    Pats 6/1
    Broncos & 49ers 7/1
    Seattle 8/1
    Packers 10/1
    Texans 14/1
    Falcons 14/1

    Ravens don't feature really...

From what I've seen the last couple of years the two biggest ingredients for winning in the playoffs are the offensive and defensive lines. Clearly you need all the special weapons too but its those lines for me that are the difference in the playoffs.
