Great Lengths Hair Extensions- which salon and any experiences (good or bad)?

    Hi all,

My hair has been the same length (just below my shoulders) for about 6 years and just will not grow any longer no matter how hard I try. I have clip in hair extensions for nights out and find them great but ideally I'd love to have longer hair all the time.

By the looks of things, the Great Lengths extensions seem to be really good, albeit fairly expensive. If they were good though I wouldn't mind forking out a bit more. I don't like the micro beads ones because they often can be seen and a friend of mine had them and they drove her crazy so she took them out.

So, I'd love to know people's experiences with Great Lengths and where they went to get them. I'm mostly based around the midlands and south east although Dublin wouldn't be a problem for me either so I'd love to hear experiences from anywhere really! Basically just were people glad that they went with them or had they any regrets; were they worth the money; how expensive were they (I know it depends on each individual but I think it does vary from salon to salon too); did they damage anyone's own hair and any other words of wisdom people have!

    Thanks.

Custom cuts in Athlone do great lengths extensions, the pics on their fb page look great. Haven't clue how much they cost tho, but its handier than going to Dublin to get it done if you based in Midlands

Just referring to the part i bolded, why is it your hair is not growing properly this could be a dietary problem.

You need to sort that out tbh instead of putting an elastoplast so to speak over the problem of your hair not growing.

This could be down to a few things in your diet, make sure you eat protein rich foods, such as eggs, and vitamin e and keratin rich foods like nuts, cabbage etc.

Hope the extenions went okay anyway, just make sure you have made some changes to your diet, and maybe take a vitamin supplement for your hair.

Hair actually has a growth cycle, which is genetically determined, after which it will just fall out, so the only way to get longer hair if you're not happy with the length it stops growing at is to make the hair grow at a faster rate within the cycle.

    How much?

It was €580 for half head which has given me loads of hair! Think it all depends on the consultation as its different for everyone depends how much u need and wat lenght!i went for the long ones cause had long hair already! It included the shampoo and condition and special brush and a free blow dry to use again!jus have to brush ur hair every day and plait it goin to bed!i would only wash it at most 3 times a week!

Thanks for reply. Would love to get them, like you not so much for length but volume. Only problem is my hair has thinned on my crown and I have very curly hair by nature, so not sure if it would be possible to get extensions in.

Anyway thanks for all that info!

Do they last long or do you have to buy new extensions every few months?
