I'm forever forgetting passwords, did I read somewhere about something new in OSX that manages all your password for different places and even generates ones you don't have to remember, am I dreaming or is there something like that around?

There is 1Password, which is a cross platform password manager. I downloaded it a few weeks ago while it was 50% off and it's brilliant, albeit a little pricey.

But with iOS 7 and OS X Mavricks Apple announced iCloud support for Keychain, which as mentioned above has been part of OS X for quite some time. Big change here is that your passwords will be saved in the cloud so if you login and save your password on the Mac it should be available to auto log you into the same site on your iOS device. Assuming you have it setup on all your devices. I'll still use 1Password as it's handy for saving other login info like PC's, Bank Details etc. Very handy imo.

1Password all the way! But you are probably better off just waiting for OS X Mavericks.

That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Guess what all the naughty hackers will concentrate their efforts on!

So you enable two-step verification. It beats using the same password for everything which is what most people do.

The passwords are encrypted with AES 256-bit encryption so they should be safe enough. Plus as mentioned the 2-step verification helps too.
