Lidl Silvercrest car stereo [wiring]

I picked one of these up for my wife's car for €40 last week and thought I would have a go at installing it myself. After a fair bit of MacGyvering, I got it to work (this involved using insulation tape to stick the antenna cable to the radio - I would get an adapter but think I wrecked the socket!)

Anyway, I have 3 questions that I am hoping someone can help me with -

    1) The presets are lost when I turn off the ignition. I know from google that I need to swap the red and yellow wires, but the wires don't have a pull-out connection, so I am looking at having to cut the wires. Should I carry on and try to use a bullet connector or am I risking screwing things up even more that I already have.

    2) There seems to be a spare second red wire connected to nothing - what's that for?

    3) There is a handsfree kit in the car, but it no longer works - will swapping the wires fix this?

    Thanks......

There are 2 power wires, one always on for your presets, and one off the ignition to trigger power to the head unit on the key. With no offense intended, from your post I'd suggest getting someone else to do it. There's a fair chance you'll short something out.

you need to swap around 2 wires, I will post back after work but one of the wires holds a charge so the radio does not lose its memory when the car is off.

No offence taken. I am definitely out of my comfort zone.
