receipts and materials ( inc. vat or ex. vat?)

    are the figures for materials and receipts on the tax return

    vat inclusive

    or is the vat taken off (ie ex. vat )

    I take it you are referring to the income tax return.

    If so then the figures are ex. VAT as you would have paid/claimed them during the course of business.

    yes income tax return

    ah.

    If your vat registered its net of the vat - Vat taken off

    If your not vat registered its the gross amount - vat not taken off.

    i was vat registered for the tax year in question


    i have since de-registered


    so i assume i still take off the vat right?

    Yes if you were tax registered in the year of return then ex vat figures.
