    I bought a 2006 mazda atenza and Ive noticed this, there was a book in japanese talking about voice alert.

    Anyone know how to use it are where id find out?

    Whatever it is, to me it looks aftermarket and not part of the original design. Could be a microphone from an old car kit that was taken out?

    have you tried to rotate the dial to see what it does?

    Look for photos of the car on the web and see if other cars have it. If not it is part of a phone kit :)

    I guess it is some sensor sensitivity dial maybe since you mentioned voice alert?
    Do you have the rest - i mean screen, sensors etc?
