As per the title, is it possible for the recipient of a standing order to cancel the standing order?

I believe that standing orders are initiated by the sender account, unlike direct debits that are initiated/triggered by the receiptant.  You can't stop someone putting money into your account if they have details.

    Hi rcdk1,

    Thank you for your post.

What onedmc has said is correct, it is not possible for the recipient to cancel a standing order.

Standing orders can only be cancelled by the person who originally set it up.

If there is anything else we can help you with please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Thanks
    Paula C
