So I was using my AIB debit card to top up my student travel card in April and May, but Irish Rail didn't charge me correctly. I honestly didn't notice and now they've taken €50 off me:(

My current account was €49 in debit so they'll prob fine me, I'm a student on 9000 p/a so this is really annoying, anyone else get a nasty shock like this?

P.S. I know I owe Irish Rail the money but I want to have a rant anyway so I came here

So you're complaining that you had to pay for something you bought?

    Or they over charged you?

Watch out OP you wont get any sympathy here. Run before you get strung up and called out by everyone.

I'm complaining that they had my current account go into minus numbers, some warning would have been nice!

Not sure if you have any comeback on Overdraft fees with IE.

Want a more PC term? How about 'differently male' or 'possessing a vagina, XX chromosones and an original birth certificate that states 'FEMALE'?'

The plus or minus of your account isn't their problem though, is it?

Public transport and overdrafts. Jesus, maybe this recession is worse than I thought.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,829 ✭✭✭KerranJast

ProTip: If you don't want to deal with the consequence of overdrafts tell the bank that you want to opt out and the payment will bounce in future.

Or act like a sensible adult type person and have more than a few coppers in your account :D
