    If the internet was shut down?

    It'd take them some time to remove all servers and completely disconnect every computer but anyway..

    Switching off a few TLD DNS servers would do quite a good job of it!
    Even better if they advertised the wrong information, your web browser wouldn't have a clue, do you know the IP address of boards.ie

    There would be more within a week though. The internet being shut down and severely impaired isn't the same thing. The only realistic way it could happen is for all the ISPs to shut down.
