Iv heard that if somebody is on Job Seeker Allowance that FÁS or other agencies (dont know which ones) will/can send you to 3rd level education. What criteria needs to be met to qualify? How does it work, what do they contribute for you ( fees etc?), and has anybody went this route to 3rd level? Thanks :)

While on a FAS CE scheme I went back to UCD part time , I got some funding off
FAS and some from a Community Based scholarship.

The CE supervisor was particularly encouraging and bent the rules ever so slightly.

There usually is someone who will speak to you about returning to education. You can return to third level full-time if you have been on JSA and meet certain criteria. If you have not been in full-time education within 5 years, or if you have never claimed a maintenance grant from the government, then you can get your fees paid yearly and apply to SW to receive your payment into the bank for 9 months and to excuse you from signing while you attend. Called Back To Education Allowance.

If you want to go back and do a course part time in a 3rd Level College
    https://www.springboardcourses.ie/

if you want to go back full time you need to out of work for more then 9 months. talk to your social officer.

apply for the Courses you want under the CAO, Cut off is gone.
if you are successful you fill out forms about the course and letters from the college send them into the Dole office, they will then pay your Fees.

Before you used to get 500 euro at the start of every Term, that was cut down to 380 now its gone..
You will still get your 180 a week while in College. if you Drop out, you will no Longer be able to apply for a 3rd level course again, so pick one that you will stick at
