    http://www.independent.ie/opinion/analysis/aston-martins-were-once-status-symbols-but-none-have-been-here-sold-since-2010-29331046.html

"For the very wealthiest builders and developers in their 40s, Aston Martin became the "go-to" luxury marque"
"A quick glance at Carzone.ie tells the story of Celtic Tiger hubris and foolishness. There's 19 Astons for sale second-hand.".

What an absolute load of b*lls. For a start there is no dealer in the Republic of Ireland so I'm not sure how one would go about buying one here in the first place.
I am an owner and I know 2 other owners. They also bought in the UK. I would love to know what research this journalist did, or whether it was all anecdotal.
Best purchase I ever made, so I feel insulted to have it described as "Celtic Tiger hubris and foolishness".

It's the Irish independent, so I would be fairly confident there was no research what so ever done.

Is Charles Hurst not the official"island of Ireland" dealer?

Same with a few other top marques too.

My old boss owned a few, has a DB9 now. He told us that there was a waiting list in Ireland for them and the list was slow. He said that when he was first in line he was offered a substantial amount of money to swap places with the guy who was second on the list!

Not sure how true it is - but I always believed him :P

I wouldn't bother feeling insulted with anything printed in the independent tbh. It's nothing more than a red top rag in disguise. Enjoy your car and feck the begrudgers :)
