    HI All.
    I have windows 7 Home premium, core i7 cpu 920, @ 2.67Ghz, 16GB ram and
an ATI Radeon HD4800 Series. Is this worth upgrading and if so with what ? and I would also need a sound card as the on board sound is gone . Budget around
450 euros or should i just scrap it and up the budget for a complete new build.
    Thanks in Advance:)

CPU is still pretty sound, not sure if the Dell motherboard board supports much if any overclocking (probably not tbh), if it does great, but even if not probably worth holding onto the CPU for another year or two. I wouldn't mind seeing the PSU specs but if it is powering an 4800 series card it can't be too bad.

Budget probably on the low side for a full system overhaul, so i'd be thinking new GPU, SSD, soundcard and maybe a CPU cooler if the motherboard bios supports overclocking.

I would invest in to GPU and keep system for a bit longer. Might throw in ssd in to it too, just check what sata it has and does it has spare. Its dell we talking about.

GPU and SSD will be two items you can easily transfer to new machine later, which you will be building in the next two years... ;)

I'd was thinking something like this, no need to spend much on the soundcard if it is just to replace onboard audio.

Secondly make sure you have a PCI slot free on the motherboard, there is a very similar PCIeX1 version of the xonar as well if that it what you have instead.

    Item|Price
    Samsung SSD 840 120GB SATA 6Gb/s|€85.52
    ASUS Xonar DG, PCI x1|€28.11
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€29.54
    Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950, 3GB GDDR5, PCI-Express|€274.61
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€436.77

Have a read of this LGA 1366 overclocking guide to see if the relevant options for overclocking are available in the bios, if they aren't then there's no real need to bother with the 212 Evo unless you wan't the CPU to run quieter.
