So we have already tried one set of investigations which resulted in local authorities saying "nothing to see here", and the Govt have just announced another go round.
This time with external experts rather than an "internal review".

So, just how many "alleged" stories does AH have about planning corruption? No names please, or councils. Fire away but keep boards.ie out of court.

The deal that was rushed through in the last days of the FF government to buy land owned by 2 FF members (ex councilor & a TD's campaign manager) at an extortionate price (boom price during the bust), the land then sat there for years before being touched.

From what I understand its not the local authorities at fault nor the civil servants, its the democratically elected politicians.

You think some local authority employees were not involved in planning corruption?

Err...haha ha ha ha ha. Good one. You should be on the stage.

Likewise. I was looking forward to helping a hapless-but-evil OP embrace the world of cronyism and backhanders.

    What have you got?

I think most people have heard anecdotes about people who got planning permssion by less than straightforward means.

GAA clubs have a bit of a reputation for dodgy dealing when it comes to planning. Sometimes they just ignore it altogether. Despite claiming to be a heritage organisation they don't play well with archaeologists. They get away with it though. I expect it's because the people that have the power to burn them for it are either members or are too concerned with their reputation with the community to rock the boat.
