Hey, does anyone know if PS4 will be able to play PSone -PS3 games? The PS4 looks really tempting when compared to the Xbox one. A big deciding factor for me is the ability to play previous generation games such as FF and MGS.

No it won't be able to play ps2 or ps1 or ps3 games natively it will however stream them from the cloud for a fee.

I don't see what the issue is with backwards compatibility. Most people who want to play games on previous consoles will probably have that console anyway.

cost, I've never had more than one console at a time, when the new one comes out I usually sell the old one.

I like my games for the Ps1 Ps2 and Ps3. I also have a PC an Xbox and 2 Xbox 360s (well one is broken other on the way out)

    PS1 4 leads

    Ps2 4 Leads

    Ps3 2 leads

    Xbox 4 leads

    Xbox 360 2 Leads

    PC 6 leads

Thats 24 wires and leads in 1 room

Were as backwards compatible would cut that out. I could then also mention Disks , 500 + Disks

I’m not so sure about this. There will be a lot of Xbox 360 users migrating to the PS4 this generation, myself included. I’d love to play the likes of the Uncharted trilogy, God of War & The Last of Us having never had the chance before.

Anyone care to guess the cost it will be?

I still have my PS1 and SNES hooked up to my TV and i don't see the issue either.

The PS4 will be $399 while the xbox one will be $499. Likewise I will probably be migrating to the PS4 from my xbox and I would things to be backward compatible especially for the aforementioned games. I would also like to be able to play some PS1 games primarily FF and MGS and other such great classics. The PS3 has a lot of great games and it would be a shame for people who are switching to PS for the first time in ages will lose out on.
