Wedding Invitations?

    Who'd have thought it?

Wedding Invitations seem to be the most varied and overly priced thing I have found on the path to a wedding.

DIY or not to DIY that is the question.

Oddly enough the most straight forward site seems to be Vista Print. There are some suppliers whose websites are so terrible you'd wonder why they are even in the industry. I mean, if you cannot present a website how can we expect you to present a quality piece of print.

Is it really worth our while going DIY? Will we make so many printing mistakes having to buy more paper etc that we may as well pay a professional company to do it?

Also, seeing as it's no longer Wedding Show Season we can't visit stands at shows so is there a company you could suggest that have prices online.

    Ebay.

We're going for something like this in the double sided version.

Also, if you're in the Dublin 15 area the Carlton Hotel in Tyrrelstown are having a Wedding Showcase evening on the 27th June between 6-9pm. They'll have suppliers there.

Thanks. The sample is £9.99 to post.

Other than that, I'd order one and I'm not pay €3.50 to Parcel Motel for an Envelope either. :D

I'm going to a wedding fair tomorrow, they are still on in hotels all over the country with suppliers at them. We're ordering from Vistaprint, €65 for 200 invites with envelopes, RSVP's are another €30 I think if we go with them, no DIY-ing for us to mess up and they will arrive perfect and ready to go for pretty cheap.

They seem a good choice alright. http://www.jumpfox.co.uk is also reasonable as well but I've just been told "I want raised lettering and a bow".

I said "no problem, most printers do all that work for free"
    "Do they?"
    "Are you serious?"

Guy at Jumpfox is sending me my proof over free of charge for a look at it. If it's any good then we can go with them because their prices are quite competitive. £9.99 for all the postage is good. Vistaprint are nearly €15 delivery.

Yeah I order a lot from Vistaprint so I have a lot of special offers that I can use to get the price down and can shove the invites in with another delivery to cut that down too.

Did you just message him on ebay? Going to look for a free proof too.

Yes, I originally filled in the form on Saturday evening asking him to do up a PDF proof of it and he said "You just buy the sample sale and I'll post these ones instead" so I replied saying I would if the postage wasn't £9.99 so he said he'd post the sample for free.

I purchased this as well. Number 5

    Hi all

My fiance and I just got engaged and now we're starting to planning the first steps of our big day.
At the moment we are looking for some venues in and around cork. Does anyone of you have any experiences or recommendations concerning this? I would be so thankful to get some tips.

    Thank you and warm regards,
    Michelle

    You should check out www.optimalprint.co.uk
I got my son's christening invitations from them and the quality is fantastic and at the moment they are offering 50% off everything... I am getting everything from them, order of service, place names, invites the full caboodle..
They have a lovely range of stuff.

I used Bride & Groom Direct for mine. I wanted fancy invitations with guest names printed on them, but was persuaded by my husband and friend to have plainer ones instead and spend the difference somewhere else. Just went for a basic embossed design with the script in teal which was our colour.

Very quick service, and they'll send you a couple of free samples if you wish. Do you have access to a Parcel Motel near you if the P & P is too expensive. They've even got a 50% sale on at the moment too!
