Alright so I want to be a vet. Did the Leaving back in 2010 but didn't get the points. Deep down I always knew I would fall short seeing as the points were so astronomical. Alright so I want to be a vet. Did the Leaving back in 2010 but didn't get the points. Deep down I always knew I would fall short seeing as the points were so astronomical. Anyway I went off to do a science course instead, about to enter my final year in september.

It's always been my plan to then try for postgraduate entry veterinary medicine either in Ireland, UK or over in Budapest. However this won't me cheap. a 5 year course with roughly €10,000 a year, so i'll need a student loan.

Anyway my question is, how hard would a loan of this magnitude be to obtain?

The AIB offer above is similar to most major banks.
The interest is still quite high and you will possibly need to have the loan secured, generally they demand it be guaranteed by parents.
