I am starting my own business in the next few months. I am confused about a few things even after looking them up on the internet. I know i have to register my company name it is a sole trader btw, but is there a process where you have to register your business or is the name enough.

Can i get a company to do all this for me and if so is it advisable i am unsure if a sole trader needs a memorandum of association etc thanks

Jump onto the CRO website.. Its not hard.. I went through it earlier in the year myself so it must be simple enough..
Seems though that the CRO website is down at the moment

f your a sole trader you can trade under your name or if different from your name you need to register a "business name"

partnership _ reg a business name

Limited company - Register a Ltd company (you will get memo and articles then) and full company sec pack)

    Bus name is €20

    Company from €199

please talk to someone in the know first :D

There's a whole 'Business' section to Boards.ie, where it might be worth your while posting your questions.
Entrepreneurial & Business Management in particular could be a good spot:

No need to form a company.

If you wish to trade under a name that differs from your own then you must register that business name with the CRO.

Other than that the only thing to do is register with the Revenue for income tax etc

get an accountant and he will do all that for free and do it correctly first time.
