hey just looking for advice regarding the maths difficulty in this course. i never did HL maths for the leaving cert buy i would be confident of getting the requirement of the A2 in OL. i never really worked hard at maths to get it, so if i were to work hard and got to any maths help in the college, realistically would i be able for the course?

I personally thought it was easier than Higher Maths. Lots of matrices and calculus.

so with hard work i'd be able to manage it? BTW its computer science with business, Computer Science by itself requires HL maths

I'm in CS and business. Just finished second year. I did ordinary for the LC. Found the maths fine.

In first year did matrices and integration in the first term then second term boolean logic. Bit of work and you'll be fine. I got A1 in LC and a first in Maths in first year and I'm by no means amazing at Maths. No maths in second year.

    Hi,

Just considering doing Business and computer science in Trinity and trying to sort out my CAO properly before Monday! I did HL maths for the leaving and am hoping for a B of some sort. Ive been advised to do the course seeing as Im interested business and there seems to be many job opportunites in the programming sector. But im just worried about the level of difficulty of the programming because Ive never done it before and am not particularly into computers. Dont want to end up struggling with the comp sci element.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a million!

Don't worry, it's fine, especially if you're good at thinking logically. They assume you know nothing.

I would definitely advise that should you do this course, you don't skip any programming lectures. They all build on top of each other and if you skip some, you'll get lost.

The programming is fine if you put in a bit of work in. Just be fully sure that its what you want to do because there is a good bit of programming and other computer science related modules involved throughout the four years which many have struggled with.
