Hi, I'm planning my wedding at the moment and was wondering if anyone has experience of Annacarriga estate??? I'm hoping for a country chic/ vintage theme wedding and think this venue is ideal but have not been able to find any reviews of weddings there. I would really appreciate any help!

    Hi History Queen,

Have you managed to find any more information on AnnaCarriga since your initial post? I'm also in the early stages of planning our wedding and really like the sound of AnnaCarriga too as we got engaged at Lough Derg but I'm also finding it very difficult to find reviews online so would appreciate any more information you've gathered in the mean time!

The only thoughts I have on it, as I drive passed frequently, is that before reading this thread I thought it was a summer village/housing estate. Maybe its nicer further in but from the road it looks like a bunch of houses.

i live near there and know of one wedding that was there and he said it was great but can get more info if you like..
they took the boat from Killaloe so this is a nice touch
been to see it and location perfect (id say that) but what would worry me is,, its not used that often ,, so draught beer maybe an issue if you want it.. there are no toilets as far as i know you need to get portaloos,, think these are an extra.
to hire prices i heard seem v high.. not sure how food works if you get outside catering or if they use the restaurant in the estate .. food here is nice if you are into fine dining.
the setting is beautiful though and should be plenty of apartments to rent.

The Pavilion is about 500 meters past all the restaurant and apartments by the edge of the Shannon unseen from the road

From reading around a bit more, it does sound like they get in outside Caterers. I've read about caterers called Masterchef & Yums who have both advertised weddings there.

Needing to get portaloos sounds very strange. Would've assumed they'd at least have bathrooms. That would really put me off there as a location if thats the case.

I was guest at one of the weddings at AnnaCarriga and I have to say it's the most amazing setting...

I'm engaged myself and if my friend didn't get married there already I would choose it as my venue.

There are toilets and everything... I don't know the exact rates, but the management & food on the day of the wedding was superb.

    I hope, this helps...

Yes, that does help. Thanks Jenny.

Particularly the bit about the toilets. Needing to rent portaloos seemed very strange! Also good to know that the food was good because they use outside caterers there so its a little tougher to find reviews of their food.

We've recently viewed this place for a wedding next spring. I haven't seen reviews either but what I loved was their general flexible approach. They're totally up for something different which I found a breath of fresh air after meeting/ speaking with a lot of stuck up snobs who just do conveyor belt weddings, regardless of size. We're looking at a smaller wedding - 20-25, and so we'd be eating in the brasserie.

But I wouldn't be worried about portaloos, the kind you'd get for a gig such as a wedding are a far cry from the Slane-type portaloos!!

If you call Jana she'd be happy to give all the info on their caterers I'm sure, since I found her more than accommodating. Maybe they'd allow you to bring your own caterers in have you considered that?

We recently had our ceremony and reception in AnnaCarriga. We honestly can't recommend it highly enough. The setting is so picturesque - on clear days it is idyllic and on 'bad' days there is a raw beauty that is unexpected.

Now, as the venue kind of sells itself as soon as you visit it, I'd like to give some info to you on the not so visible stuff that you might worry about..

In terms of planning, support up to and on the day (and beyond) Jana is wonderful, she is so helpful and supportive, and willing to accommodate any ideas. She also has a genuine interest in you having a memorable day in all ways, far from the business like and often money orientated other venues. Please do contact her, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

The loos seem to be of interest here - they are not portaloos as mentioned, but luxury toilets that are brought in for events, to keep the space in the pavilion as large as possible. All of our guests seemed more than happy, and I don't think some of them even noticed that they weren't a permanent structure. They were also adequate in number, which I originally worried about (we had about 160 guests or so) and there was never anyone waiting.

The catering was provided through Masterchefs. They were extremely professional, and as they are such a large catering company they can offer a huge variety of dishes, which is great for couple like us who want to design their own menu and not go with set packages. They were also very accommodating and Tom was very helpful and cheery all the way. Everybody was impressed with the food (which I can give anyone details of if you need). Buffet style works wonderfully in this venue, we mixed it (seated starter and buffet main & dessert - which was just our chocolate biscuit wedding cake and strawberries). The wine and prosecco was reasonably priced, and their staff on the day were excellent.

We had our ceremony outside on the grass by the lake, fab, and a bit fun as the rain was coming in over the hill, so we had a slightly edited version of the original planned one, but it was lovely - just so natural and everyone loved the casual nature of it. Please PM me if you want any info on this. Again Jana was fantastic in helping plan this, and facilitate us.

Honestly I could give you loads of info and don't want to bore you with details you're not interested in, so please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I have sent you a pm, but just call Jana, you can get all the information you need through AnnaCarriga or through Masterchefs. They are genuinely very helpful and informative from my experience. I am happy to answer any questions though, as I would love to see others enjoying this wonderful setting so anything I can do to encourage you I will :)

    Hi there,

Just wondering if you stayed around with any of your guests the 2nd day/night ... if you did, what did you do?

    Hi All,

I went to visit AnnaCarriga as a potential wedding venue a few weeks ago, and love the setting, however, it is pricey. Did anyone who had their wedding there have any luck with negotiations on price, or get anything extra for the basic package? Looking forward to hearing all your feedback.

    Hi CocoLily,

We are the same. Did you have any luck?

    Hi there,

Many thanks for the info. Have you decided on somewhere else?

At the end of the day I think most places seem to work out to cost and a bonus here is you can supply the wine.

Glad to hear the fair was good!

Yup, ended up booking the strand instead. One of the major factors was people can get home handy enough that live in Limerick, not that Killaloe is miles away either.

    Hi there,

We have booked AnnaCarriga for our wedding which we are very excited about! You can fit up to 300 in the pavilion. We have similar numbers to you so plan on using the extra space for some couches etc. You can get a bar extension until 2am which costs 200 euro. We are also having dinner the night before in the restaurant for family and friends and a BBQ the next day! There are lots of B&Bs in the area where guests that can't stay in AnnaCarriga can be accommodated.

We are looking at having our wedding at Annacarriga in June 2017. The venue really looks like you can decorate and turn it into something really special.

Is it possible to pay corkage and bring your own wine for the wedding day and also the day after?

Has anyone done a Pig on a spit BBQ the day after at Annacarriga and if so do you still have use of the pavilion?

I am in touch with them at the moment trying to arrange a viewing as were coming over from London.

    Hey there,

We booked June 2017 and we are living in London too!

Yes Im sure you can bring your own wine and pay corkage for both days, just confirm this with Jana.

You can use the pavilion for Day 2.
