    I watched midnight express last night, I've seen it before countless times too.

    IMO this is the best prison movie I've ever seen. The acting is brilliant and the emotions it brings are intense. Most people haven't even heard of this movie, am I just overrating this movie, how do you rate it?

    Midnight Express is definitely in the top 5 prison movies. I saw it on release and I have owned it on VHS, DVD and now blu ray. The controversy surrounding it at the time was enormous. Brad Davis was superb as Billy Hayes but then during the special features you see the real Hayes and the difference between the fictional and the real Hayes is so big.

    The actual story is a lot different after reading the book, the money he was given and what it was used to buy. Alan Parker made a classic when he put this together.
