Lads do any of ye remember a .22lr round with a wasp logo on the shell casing and if so are they still making them and where can they be got. They were high velocity rounds. I last used them in the mid 80's but have not seen them in the shops since I got back into shooting. They were a serious round for putting down the bunnies

used them myself back then. could be wrong but i think they were called yellow jackets, probably a nick name as the bullet had a yellow coating on them. the bullet was an unusual shape also. think i still have one somewhere. anyway probably not much help to you as i dont have a 22 anymore.

Thanks I have some yellow jackets but the base of the round has a different logo on it unless it was changed from the wasp to the Rem it has now. Is it the same round?

The ones sportsden are showing have a wasp on box. Remington yellow jackets

They look the same as the one i have, same shape bullet head with grooves on base. give them a bell and ask them about wasp logo.

I have the yellow jackets they are a very common round, but the ones I am looking for have a wasp engraved on the bottom of the case, unless it is the same round with a new engraving. I can't remember who made them

the one i have has wasp on base but no makers name, sure if you get a box and they,re not the same its not going to break the bank, you never know they might be better. good luck.

next time im in gun shop i,ll bring it and ask dealer for info on it and i,ll let you know.

    http://www.gunauction.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=7366676

According to the above link the head stamp was changed and the latest batches don't have the wasps......

Shot these myself with the semi auto, some power, but very light for extended ranges.
Try them on cheep tins of food and fuzzy drinks.....very impressive...

    Were they not called Stingers?

Yes they were. But I did not use that name in the op as I did not want to confuse anybody who might have thought I was looking for the CCI stingers
