that is the same engine that goes into the focus so if you look it up you should get details of it. Ford call it TDCi. As regards the rest of the car i see a few on donedeal and carzone with high milage so they are capable of getting there.

If you want to find out info on the 1.6 hdi search "1.6 hdi" here you will find...
    http://www.boards.ie/search/submit/?query=1.6+hdi+ hdi &forum=47

if you research it enough you will find out that the 1.6 hdi is a good engine Once it's has been serviced every 9k mls (or less) and once the correct oil (5w 30 fully syn low saps) has been used....
    Service history is a must.!!!

The new C5's are a nice looking car and tbh are pretty reliable...off the top of my head just insure that the elec windows are going up and down as the window regs do give trouble....;)

We've had a 2009 1.6HDi C5 Tourer for the past 18 months & it's a great family car. Plenty of toys, loads of room & very comfy. Granted, you won't win any drag races, but it's very economical. The Tourer is (IMHO) one of the best looking estates on the road these days.

Price-wise, €10k (private sale) add €2-3k more from a dealer.

wouldnt be my cup of tea and turbo's i hear give bother and dont think they would hold their resale value well either...i would much prefer the 2litre version anyway..
heres one i saw in England
its a 08 here 1.6 hdi which would also come under the low motor tax rate...its gotta be cheap at this, you could even get it for less than the 3k .. and comiskey salvage in Armagh is looking that price for a crashed 09 one ..
