Buying second hand concert tickets Slane

Not sure If this is the right forum

I've been offered two tickets for Slane tomorrow but they are email tickets, not the real type. I know I usually select email as the method myself.

What's the risk in buying these? I'm meeting the lady tomorrow who says she has Id and her name is on them.

Is it safe to buy or is there a way to check they are genuine?

    Thanks

The danger with the print out tickets are you can run off as many copies as you like. You could do the same ticket ten times on a standard photocopier and sell them all.

You would be none the wiser until its scanned on entry and found to be used.

Of course, use a bit of cop on and you should be fine. Do you know the seller first hand? Are they an established seller on adverts or ebay with feedback? or are they a new seller, with no feedback, who you are agreeing to meet at the side of the road or in a pub. (untraceable)

    Thanks for that.

Yes that's what I'm worried about. It was done deal. I just spoke to her and she sounds genuine. She lives in Slane and we agreed to meet tomorrow morning.

I can get real tickets from ticketmaster for about fifty quid more but these are better seats closer to the stage.

I might meet her and get a feeling tomorrow. I know myself I only use email as the option to buy the tickets

If I was you, I would ask to go to her house, or even ask for photo id. Just be polite and explain that you have had a previous bad experience where you were refused entry.

Be polite and they should be happy enough. Otherwise walk away. There are LOADS on adverts.ie

    Well I chickened out!

Just bought two from ticketmaster. They actually had great seats available.

For the sake of forty quid at least it's peace of mind.

The thing is, ticketmaster were offering refunds up until today since Richie sambora left the band so I don't understand why people are selling.

Actually feel a bit better now. She lives in Slane herself and couldn't meet there as roads closed off. I do think she was genuine though.

    Thanks for the advice

If they are standing you wont have an issue

Just check to see I'd they are general admission or gold circle as gold circle will be sectioned off.

If its print out ones then the first person to go up will get in.

Real tickets are not much better, people can say they never arrived and get more copies sent to them, or they collect replacement ones at the box office. So regardless of who turns up first the barcodes will tell the bouncers that they have been reported stolen.

Reprinted physical tickets will be marked as such and only the person who bought the tickets (or someone they lend their card to) can collect them at the venue, so this reduces the risk with physical tickets. Doesn't eliminate it obviously.
