I will be going to college in september on the btea. Does the btea continue during the summer months while not in college?

Generally you go on jobseekers during the summer.

No you'll have to sign back on during the summer, they send out a letter with your sign on date and first post office collection date. You shouldn't need to re-apply.

it's just i have a loan and it obviously would need to be paid all year round. So it should be just a simple change over then, not having to go on a waiting list or anything?

No you won't miss a week, you should get a letter before you finish for the summer saying what date your last payment of BTEA is, the date of your next post office payment (the following week) and when to sign on. They can be slow the following September starting the payments back again into the bank, but that just means you'll be getting it in the post office. You won't miss any payments.

BUT, JSA is means tested so if there is an income in your house hold, you may be cut due to means.
