    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a traditional musician that would be able to entertain guests in the residents' bar post band/DJ? We have a lot of people coming who enjoy old ballads and singsongs, so we thought this would be nice but I'm not sure where to even start looking for someone! we're probably talking about 2 hours from 1 am to 3am approximately, and the wedding is in the Midlands.

    Appreciate any help!

Go to facebook, look for a group called "guitarist ireland". ask there. most working guitarists in ireland are in it (think theyre over 1000 at the moment). Youll get some pm's back and then do appropriate research.

alternatively call local pubs or ask hotel for musician list.

Have you got musicians coming? just let a session start?
Nearly every wedding we go to there ends up being a session in the residents bar until all hours:)
We got a trad band for the 2nd evening of our wedding then had a big session after.
Depending where and when it is I know a few great session musicans.

Try Homebrew, they're on Facebook. Play in o Shea's in Dublin city amongst others and the brick room malahide.
