No, it would not make a lot of difference, because your head is insulated from the shell by a thick layer of expanded polystyrene.

I was reading this ,I know its U.S.A based and the temps are higher .Motorbike helmet as well which is way bigger but I thought wouldn't be the same principle.Black attracts the sun full stop

Motorbike helmets are fully enclosed. It's a bad comparison.

Also, how often do you ride in conditions that are "89 degrees [F]. Mostly Sunny".

    You're overthinking it.

Maybe I am overthinking it a wee bit.I know I will rarely ride in 89deg (Well last sat felt like it climbing cnoc a oir, even if it wasn't).I know its not an adeal comparision but the tester is comparing like with like.Shouldn't it work same way if you tested like for like cycling helmets

No, because a cycling helmet only covers a small part of your head.

Empirically, I have white and black helmets. I have never felt that the colour made any difference.

If you care that much about body temperature I hope you have white bib shorts. :pac:

Ya own white ,black ,grey and another few colours as well. Its just that my preferred colour is out of stock so black would be my next choice. Then as I was just about to confirm order I said well I'd ask anyways.

Have a Rudy project Sterling Helmet in charcoal grey and no problems in hot weather . One of the best ventilated helmets I have used (love the optional bug mesh as well) .

I have a black specialized S-Works helmet and no problems in hot weather with that as well .used it in last few weeks in the Races and training in hot weather .

could you not wrap the helmet in tinfoil, keeps the heat out and also stop the competition from reading your mind!
