I need a quad lnb and 80CM dish fitted with cable running to three rooms.
I have receivers for each room.
    What's a fair price?
Also is there a way to find out if an installer is insured and trained in health and safety, how do i avoid cowboys.?

    Many thanks

Saorview only recognise three trade bodies:
    http://www.saorview.ie/equipment/installers/

but most would only recommend the main body:
    http://www.isaa.tv/features.php?county=dublin

Be sure to get at least a 1 year warrenty on the install. You would also need to specify the make/quality of the dish to compare. You probably be able to get a few quotes over the phone.

The ways some installers save money:
    No training
    No health and safety
    No warranty on installs
Inferior dishes and placing dishes on the front of houses instead of a pole at the rear
    Inferior coax
Not hiding coax or not running cables through attic etc.

Be sure they discuss this with you and agree a fair price.

I would recommend running two feeds to the main TV during installation in case you opt for a dual tuner receiver later. It should not cost much extra.

all the above covers you but I would get an octo lnb = 8 outlets and same price as a quad, then 2 to living = a humax freesat hdr = like sky plus but free and initial outlay. then the other 6 can be as you direct.

You are probably going for freesat and soarview ie a combo box or a separate saorview box. I saw a few posts for a good guy in dublin so may you could search or put a separate posting.

out of interest, why 80cm dish? 60cm is fine for freesat

    Much appreciated advice guys.
On the 80CM issue i had thought that was standard for Ireland.

I installed a 60cm dish for my sister in Dublin last year, she hasn't reported any problems since.
