My car was parked outside my cousins restraunt in a private car park owned by a church in bray. Recieved a fine for no display of insurance disk a week after I took my policy out . I printed off a cover note off the email I recieved when I took the policy out. Had that in the window when the guard was checking the disks. The fine also says my car was on herbert road in bray . It was in the car park off Herbert road. Half is owned by the council and other half is owned by the church. When I got the fine I had no intentions of paying it as I had insurance and was waiting on the cert.
Brought the fine to the garda station and th guard at the time to not pay it and phone the station when the guard who issued the fine was there. Rang twice and he wasnt there. Decided not to pay the fine anyway. I then received a sunmons to court . Its on the 24th of this month. Im just wondering what will happen when I go to court. Heading to OZ on the 26th just dont want anything effecting me and that I cant leave.
Any advice on what will happen

So was the guard wrong to fine me even tho I was insured

Per your post, the fine was for non display. It sounds as if that charge can stand. Surely it is better to persevere and try to agree with the guard for him/herto exercise their discretion to withdraw the charge. If the court case es ahead, what is to stop the DJ (quite properly) recording a conviction, you were after all guilty of the offence by your own admission.
