    Hello,

Have A Problem with my fog lights at the moment.

The Car is A 2000 P11-144 Nissan Primera.

Fog Lights Wont Come on until i turn my full lights on and go off when i take my fulls off. Also when i turn them on they blow all my brake lights :(

Had To replace all 3 twice :L

Any Ideas Whats Going wrong? Wiring? Fuse? Indicator Stalk?

Cant Find Much about it online!

    Thanks

    Sounds like they were either
    • Wired in arseways or
    • There's an earthing issue

    They Were Factory Wired.

How Would i go About Checking The Earthing?

    Thanks

Phew! I'd still inspect the wiring anyway :)

Check the earthing points for the fusebox, lights behind, in the cabin etc for corrosion or poor connections. You may have seen some cars lighting all the lights when the brakes are applied, japs tend to use thinner wire hence the blowing rather than all the lights coming on

check that the proper bulb types are in their proper lights

Are they the front fogs OP?

Maybe the Boards.ie anti fog light campainers have moved away from the keyboards and onto sabotage:p

Just to clarify. Do they come on with your full headlights and go off with your dipped beam, or do they just go off with your sidelights and stay on with your dipped beam and headlights.

Sounds like a miswiring. But for the two days every decade we get fog, why would you have them on?

In the interest of keeping this thread alive, let's focus on the how and not so much on the why, thanks.

I turn my dips on and then turn my fogs on and no luck. then turn my fulls on and the fogs come one too?? :/

Has any messing being done to the wiring? Has any additional lights been added to the car?.

Given the fact that these sort of problems can cost a fair whack in labour if you can't do it yourself, I'd take the bulbs out of the front fogs. That'll give you rear fogs and your brake lights. It's not an ideal solution, but you'll be legal......

Hi DJ I had a Primera years ago and the front fogs were causing trouble with the brake lights so the answer to the problem was replacing the fog light bulbs and it fixed the problem.
